Welcome to the Canterbury House at Northwestern University!
Canterbury Northwestern is a community of students, faculty, and other friends of Northwestern University that seeks to reflect the love of God for all and to live our lives marked by the good news of Jesus Christ. As the Episcopal campus ministry at Northwestern, we strive to pray without ceasing, to think through our faith, to live justly, to love mercy, and to create rich and meaningful friendships along the way.
We are home to The Affirmation Project and the Canterbury Seminars, and we always have (good) coffee brewing!
If you are looking for a place where you can connect and pray with other students, ask hard questions, think deep thoughts, dream big dreams, strive for social justice, and laugh until you snort, or if you just need a quiet place to go, be safe, and escape the frenzy of university life for a little while, the Canterbury House is waiting for you.
Worship with us!
No matter who you are or where you find yourself on your journey of faith, you are welcome here! Our weekly worship service is an intimate, contemplative Eucharist according to the Prayer Book tradition of the Episcopal Church. We worship at the Canterbury House (2010 Orrington) at 5 p.m. every Sunday Northwestern is in session. Everyone is invited for dinner at the House directly following the service.
